“Breaking Traditions” Crushed Stone & Mahogany Engagement Wood Ring
This ring of salvaged Mahogany, with a birch liner is inlaid with a mixture of crushed stones, including Mother of Pearl, Coral, Malachite, Concrete and Sand. The inlay pattern of three circles, mimics a traditional stone setting in a non traditional way.
Mahogany is a symbol of strength and endurance, the tree itself is said to withstand the destruction of lightning strikes. Birch, in the Celtic tradition, symbolizes renewal. These two woods when paired together with the complex amalgamation of materials ignite the power of the four elements — Earth, Water, Fire and Air, and become a powerful metaphor for our lives, asking us to go deep within to expand, grow and take root in new soil.
